Dr Mike Wray has over 25 years’ experience of delivering and managing services in the public sector to support disabled people. He was previously senior policy officer at the national coordination team for widening participation (Action on Access) and national co-ordinator for the National Disability Team (NDT).
During his time with the NDT he oversaw £2.1m of HEFCE funding across 23 projects in a range of HEIs in England. The projects were funded to set up disability provision from scratch within small specialist institutions and to develop a range of inclusive teaching, learning and assessment resources for the sector. Mike provided consultancy to all projects including support with evaluation, financial reporting, measuring and capturing outcomes and dissemination of project activity across the sector.
Mike has worked as a consultant and has been a member of policy groups for a range of projects and organisations including, the Institute of Physics, the Higher Education Academy, the Equality Challenge Unit, the General Teaching Council for England, HEFCE and the Quality Assurance Agency. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Disability Practitioners and Director of the UK Inclusive Practice Network.
Mike currently works as a freelance consultant and as a PhD supervisor at the London Doctoral Academy at London South Bank University.
